Marcus learned club building in the back room of a Louisville pro shop in the mid-nineties,
where the standard procedure for a lie adjustment was a bending bar, a vice and somebody's
experienced guess. He has spent the thirty years since replacing every one of those guesses with a
measurement.
He is the reason the frequency meter gets zeroed daily and the loft and lie gauge is checked
against a reference club every month. He is also the reason there is a paper log in a drawer as well
as a file on a computer.
Marcus handles all shaft pulls, set assembly and anything involving heat near a hosel. If your
clubs come back with a note written in small block capitals, that was him.

Tessa Ruhl

Tessa came out of collegiate golf in the Ohio Valley and then spent six years doing equipment
research for a component supplier, which is where she developed a productive distrust of marketing
claims about shaft technology.
She built the roll room, wrote the capture protocol, and insists on the Monday stimp reading even
when the surface has not moved in a month. Her position on putter fitting — that toe hang
describes a head rather than prescribing a stroke — is the argument the studio was founded on.
Tessa runs the putter, wedge and iron sessions. She will tell you when the data is genuinely
ambiguous rather than dressing up a coin flip as a conclusion.

Delia Okonjo
Front desk · Grips and gauging
Delia joined to answer the phone for a summer and stayed because she turned out to be faster at
regripping than either founder. She now handles the schedule, the component ordering, and every grip
that goes on a club in this building.
She also runs the spec audits, which means she has gauged more inherited and second-hand sets
than anyone in central Kentucky and has strong opinions about what people are quietly carrying
around.
If you email the studio, Delia reads it. If a component is late, she is the one chasing it.
