What a session costs and what the number covers
Fitting fees are for our time and our measurement. Components are quoted separately at cost plus a stated markup, and assembly labour is its own line. You will never be handed one lump figure with no breakdown, because a bundled number is where the awkward margins go to hide.
Roll Room Hour

Rates below cover our time. Components, if any are needed, are quoted separately before work starts. Nothing gets ordered without your explicit approval of the number.

Credit policy, stated plainly
If you have a build done here within ninety days of a fitting, the fitting fee comes off the build. One fee, one credit — a Full Bag Rebuild credits the whole $495 against a bag build, not each of the four visits separately.
If you decide not to buy anything, you still keep the spec card, the measurements and the recommendation in writing. Nothing about a fitting is contingent on a purchase.
What we charge for that some shops do not
We charge for a spec audit, and we charge for the fitting even when the outcome is "keep what you have and change nothing". Free fittings are only free because their cost is buried in a component price, and a shop with a free fitting has a structural reason to want you to buy something.
